Another Massive Year for Bands At Bally

The Balgowlah Boys Band Program has had another massive year, getting right back into performances and showcases post-Covid.

Manly Jazz, NSSWE Spring Music Festival, school assemblies and the Music Showcase are just a few of the performances our boys have worked so well towards during 2022. Our Senior Concert Band and Jazz Orchestra rounded out the year with amazing performances at the Sports Assembly and Presentation Day Assembly respectively, highlighting the culmination of the year’s hard work in front of the whole school and community.

We bid a bittersweet farewell to Caleb Miller, our Improvisation Ensemble leader, who is unfortunately leaving us for pastures new after a very productive time working with our students. He has contributed to school concerts, guided the boys through Manly Jazz performances and been an inspiration to many. We wish Caleb the best of luck in his post university adventures and we will no doubt see Caleb again after he leaves such a lasting musical impression at our school.

We’d like to leave you with some photos of the amazing work our Band Program has done during 2022. As always, a huge thank you is due to both Caleb Miller and Julian McKay for their work with the Jazz Program, as well to Ms Eva Stokes for coordinating the whole Band Program.

The Music Department sends their best wishes for a safe and restful festive season, and are excited to get back into it all in 2023!
